The Century-Old Yulo’s Park in Bacolod Is Now a Historical Landmark
Yulo’s Park is your new and must-visit tourist spot in Bacolod!

Bacolod is home to numerous historical landmarks that honor our nation’s history. Many monuments and landmarks, from ancestral houses to museums, commemorate pivotal moments in our nation’s past. This year, plan a trip outdoors with family and friends to this new historical landmark, Yulo’s Park, and immerse yourselves in culture and history.

Yulo's Park was established on August 10, 1919, by Don Mariano Yulo, a former Governor of Negros Occidental who later became a senator during the Commonwealth period. The park just turned 105 years old on August 10, 2024.

This month, the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod declared Yulo Park an important cultural property and historical landmark of Bacolod City following the unveiling of the national historical marker from the National Museum on August 22, 2024.

The park features an old house constructed with high-quality lumber, which has stood the test of time. Located in the middle of the beautiful 6,000-square-meter landscape of Yulo’s Park, it also houses antique dining wares, chairs, tables, and beds used for various state affairs, attended by high-profile figures such as the late presidents Manuel L. Quezon and Sergio Osmeña.

The historic house boasts a collection of priceless antique secret doors, adding an air of mystery and intrigue. While some parts of the house need immediate repairs and restoration efforts are underway, the house remains beautiful.

The garden, on the other hand, is a major attraction for visitors. Its picturesque setting provides a perfect backdrop for timeless photographs, making it a popular spot for visitors and photographers alike.
