Good news for parents in Laoag City: you can get your kids vaccinated today.

The city government of Laoag officially started their vaccination rollout for teens and minors in Ilocos Norte starting last November 22. Those who are qualified to register for the vaccine include those ages 12 to 17 years old, but they must be accompanied by a legal guardian or parents during their vaccination schedule. Teens going with legal guardians must present an authorization letter signed by the parents to verify consent along with a photocopied version of their IDs.

The COVID-19 vaccination process is at the Laoag City General Hospital. The process starts by weighing minors on a scale and counseling via the registration table. After these processes, teens will be administered vaccines.

Health and Safety Protocols

Laoag City vaccination operations center coordinator Jiwani Silva made it clear that teens must register for vaccines since they are not accepting walk-ins. Pre-listing is highly recommended to avoid overcrowding in vaccination sites. Teens can expect a confirmation text for their appointment dates. Individuals are also expected to follow and observe standard safety and health protocols like wearing face masks and proper social distancing.

COVID-19 vaccination for teens and minors started last November 3 nationwide.
