Island Closure Report: Shops that Remain Open in Boracay

Check out the establishments that are still open during the rehabilitation!

Instead of tourists, locals and government workers are the main customers of open shops until the closure is done.



The island may be closed for tourists, but Boracay remains open for the local community. The islanders now have the place to themselves, including the beaches and roads that used to be crowded with tourists.

But while majority of the businesses have temporarily stopped their operations since April 26, the official start of the island closure, there are still some establishments that open their doors to locals and government workers assigned in Boracay for the rehabilitation. Below are some spots on the island that remain open in Boracay.


1. Epic Boracay



Epic is located at the beachfront of D’Mall in Station 2. Following the closure, it has adjusted its menu to cater more to locals. Apart from beers, shots, and cocktails, they also have food specials including their signature sisig or pork hash (PhP270), baby back ribs (PhP290), pizzas (from PhP210) and tacos (PhP110). Their Love Lokal special is available from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM daily.


2. Sunset View Resto Bar



Sunset View Resto Bar of Paradise Garden Resort Hotel & Convention Center in Station 3 Boracay has started offering a 50% discount on all food and beverages since April 26. They sell their cakes for PhP45 per slice now. They also serve shabu-shabu for PhP250 per serving. They also have karaoke open for walk-in guests. Sunset View Resto Bar is open from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.


3. Dos Mestizos Food Market



Following the closure of the island, the community market at Dos Mestizos has come back. The community market opens at 10:00 AM and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every Saturday. They also offer freshly-baked breads and pastries from Gusto y Gustos starting from 6:00 A.M. Stalls are selling samosa, palabok, grilled chicken and even fresh oyster from New Washington, Aklan. The bar and the food court at the community market are open until 11:00 PM.


4. Globy Bar & Restaurant



Another beachfront establishment that is open is Globy Bar and Restaurant in Station2 .They serve meat and chicken skewers for PhP20 per stick at the bar, cocktail drinks for PhP50, and bottles of cold beer for PhP60. They also serve meals like adobo with rice (PhP70), pasta (PhP170) and other snacks.


5. Pats Bar and Boom Boom Bar



The reggae bars in Station 2 also continue to provide live music each night. Happy hour at Pats Bar and Boom Boom Bar is now longer at 5:00 PM to 12 AM. Within this period, beer and cocktails cost PhP100 per glass. Snack foods are also on discounted prices.


6. CityMall Boracay



CityMall in Sitio Diniwid, Balabag continue to operate in Boracay from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. The mall also continues to operate its cinema. Different stalls inside the mall also remain open.


7. Fast food chains



Jollibee and McDonalds both along the main road in Station 2 also remain open. Both fast food chains are operating at 24 hours. Meanwhile, KFC at the beachfront in Station 2 is also open. The fast food chain is open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
