More lenient travel and vacation in Boracay await tourists visiting the island as the provincial government of Aklan drops the Boracay hotel booking proofs requirement when entering the island.
Aklan Governor Jose Enrique Miraflores officially signed an Executive Order on November 15 lifting the restrictions of ‘hotel vouchers’, so tourists in Boracay can enter and visit the island to have a vacation in Boracay even if not for overnight stays.
The Aklan provincial government decided to lift such requirements as the pandemic is now at a ‘minimum.’ In recent months, travelers must present IDs, confirmed hotel bookings, RT-PCR tests, flight tickets, and other travel documents to retrieve a tourist QR code via the AKQUIRE system under Boracay guidelines. Now, hotel bookings do not need to be granted access to enter Boracay.

Governor Miraflores says that presenting Boracay hotel bookings is one of the categories listed under the AKQUIRE System as a prerequisite before entry to Boracay Island, now officially lifted through Executive Order 097 (Series of 2023).
Lifting this requirement aims to boost travel visits to the island and encourage more people to vacation in Boracay, promoting the economy and tourism in Boracay Island, the province of Aklan, and the Philippines. With this new implementation, hotels and lodging houses can now charge ‘walk-in fees’.
If you aim to fulfill your Boracay travel goals in 2024, this new Boracay guideline is the sign to go for a vacation in Boracay!
