Travelers from the stunning island of Cebu who long for the refreshing coolness of Baguio City's climate will now need to travel to Baguio by land upon reaching Manila or any other point in Luzon. This change comes as Philippine Airlines (PAL) recently declared that direct flights from Cebu to Baguio will cease operation on July 1, 2024.

According to its domestic timetable, PAL has suspended its thrice-weekly direct flights between Cebu and Baguio. This means the convenient direct air connection between these two cities will no longer be available. The last flight on this route is on June 30. However, PAL reassured passengers affected by the cancellation of the Baguio-Cebu-Baguio flights that they would receive the required assistance and refunds.

Philippine Airlines recently declared the cancellation of the flight route owing to a decrease in passenger numbers.

PAL introduced its Cebu-Baguio flight in December 2022, using the small propeller-type De Havilland Canada Dash 8 Series 400 NG on the route.
