MMDA Internship

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will be hiring 250 summer interns as part of their Special Program for the Education of Students or SPES. The program, which will run for 22 days, will start on April 11. According to MMDA Chair Emerson Carlos, SPES is a great opportunity for students to learn public service as well as to provide financial support to their education. On the other hand, the MMDA ensured that interns will not be sent to the streets to do actual traffic labor.

The first-ever and only Vice-Presidential debate will be held on April 10, Sunday, in University of Santo Tomas. It will be hosted by CNN Philippines with Pia Hontiveros as the moderator. The debate will run on a panel format. This will be made possible through the collaboration of the Commission on Elections, CNN Philippines and Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).


WEATHER AND ROAD REPAIR UPDATES

Quezon City and nearby areas will experience sunny days with cloudy periods throughout the week. Meanwhile, intermittent showers can be expected on Sunday, April 13.

Rehabilitation of drainage systems along Aurora Boulevard and Katipunan Avenue are still ongoing while the road reblocking along C. P Garcia Street will take place until May 2016.

Ateneo Resident Student’s Association is holding its annual ARSAFest Bazaar which runs from April 6 to 8, 2016 at Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City.

The lineup of activities include a food fest and music chill. Local bands and artists will perform to cap off the event on April 8.

Tickets are available for PhP 150. They also offer ARSAFest kit which includes a ticket to the festival, one ARSAFest drawstring bag, one t-shirt, glow sticks, a waterproof pouch, and a whistle, all for PhP450. Visit their official website for ticket reservations.

Meanwhile, Ember: A Summer Bazaar is also happening on April 9 to 10 at UP Town Center Amphitheatre. The concessionaires will be showcasing summer essentials, artisan products, acoustic music, and trendy crafted items among others.
