So before you get busy with anything related to Christmas, you can still have the opportunity to unwind and have a relaxing weekend with friends and family. There are a lot of things to see and do within Metro Manila. Whether you’re into movies, theater, concerts, sports or the arts, the metro has something that will make your weekend enjoyable. Watch Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard in Allied, a film about war, love, deceit, and betrayal. Set in 1942 during the World War II, Max Vatan who is an intelligence officer in Africa, and Marianne Beausejour, a French Resistance fighter, fell in love but were pitted against each other when their true identities were exposed. Allied is directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by Steven Knight.

Relive some childhood memories as Ballet Manila takes on a fairy tale favorite.


Who doesn’t know the story of Cinderella? This weekend, you can watch premiere classical dance company Ballet Manila in their production of Cinderella at Aliw Theater. Bringing together theatrical comedy, modern special effects, and classical musical scores, this production can win the hearts of kids and grown-ups alike. Cinderella will be shown on November 25, 26, and December 3 at 8:00 PM. You can also watch it on November 27 and December 4 at 3:00 PM. Ticket prices range from PhP515 to PhP1,545. Aliw Theater is located at CCP Complex in Pasay City.

Watch a Filipino adaptation of The Tempest, a classic by William Shakespeare.


If you’re in the mood for a William Shakespeare classic, you can watch The Tempest Reimagined at the PETA Theater Center. With acclaimed artists from the UK, Japan, and the Philippines, this world-class production brings together three cultures and tackles real stories of Typhoon Yolanda survivors. It is a modern adaptation by PETA in partnership with Shakespeare Lives in 2016, Japan Foundation, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. The Tempest Reimagined will be shown on November 25 at 3:00 PM, 26 at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and 27 at 3:00 PM. Ticket prices range from PhP938.72 to PhP1,760.10.

Singer Jonalyn Viray is set to perform in Queen of the Night: Jona.


On November 25, you can watch Jonalyn Viray in her concert Queen of the Night: Jona at KIA Theater. Jona emerged as one of the excellent young singers in the country after winning in a singing contest on television in 2005. Ticket prices range from PhP640 to PhP2,970.

toe is set to perform in the Hear You Live in Manila concert at SM Aura.


Japanese rock band toe is set to hit the stage on November 27, 8:00 PM for the Hear You Live in Manila at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura in Taguig City. Founded in 2000, toe is composed of four members - Kashikura Takashi as the drummer, Yamane Satoshi on bass guitar, and Mino Takaaki and Yamazaki Hirokazu on guitars. You can buy tickets at selected branches of Artwork as well as in PePi Cubano and Thisispop! in Makati City. Regular tickets cost PhP1,000 and PhP2,000.

Bike riders unite! If you’re looking for an event that is dedicated to anything related to bikes, we’ve got good news for you. On November 26-27 at 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, you can visit PhilBike Expo 2016 at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. Score great finds and discounts on various brands and products and have fun in several interactive stations. You can also watch stunts by international cycling stars. Feeling artsy this weekend? You can see the exhibit Susmaryosep! on November 27, 4:00 PM. This is located at Sining Kamalig Art Gallery, Araneta Center, Quezon City. In Susmaryosep!, Marco Ruben T. Malto II, an artist and Fine Arts professor at University of the Philippines, focuses on current events in the country that will make people say susmaryosep! (short for Jesus, Maria, Joseph! - a feeling of surprise or fear). The exhibit also showcases works that depict religious beliefs of Filipinos.

It’s the Philippines vs. Thailand on November 25.


Cheer for the Philippines as they battle is out with Thailand in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 on November 25, 8:00 PM at the Philippine Sports Stadium. Ticket prices range from PhP150 to PhP700. The Philippine Sports Stadium is located at Ciudad de Victoria, Bocaue, Bulacan. To go to the venue, you can ride the P2P Bus at TriNoma that leaves every hour starting at 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A roundtrip ticket costs PhP55 and bus seats are on a first come, first served basis. A match between Singapore and Indonesia also happens on the same.
