Metro Manila travel tips this week

It seems like weather is not the only thing that will get hot this week. As the Metro Railway Transit (MRT) Line 3’s operational trains decrease again, commuters might have a hot temper as they will have to endure the long queues again after the train’s nine-day error-free streak. To de-stress from the traffic situation, you can take a breather by watching a theater show at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Weather: Sunny Weather Persists

The weather will be sunny with a chance of clouds.

Rainy days will not be in this week as it will continue to be sunny all over Manila. It’s a perfect opportunity to catch plenty of sun with the day temperature ranging from 32 to 34 °C. However, staying under the sun should be done in moderation.

The Department of Health (DOH) warns the public about possible diseases that can be obtained through excessive sunlight exposure, such as heatstroke or heat exhaustion. To prevent this, DOH gave tips on how to stay healthy amidst the intense heat. Aside from wearing clothing made from light materials, the department advises everyone to drink tons of water every day, apply sunblock on the face and the whole body, and take a bath every day.

Transportation: MRT Decreases Operational Trains

The MRT has been receiving a lot of flack from commuters due to its constant unloading incidents.

After commuters enjoyed the error-free streak of the MRT Line 3 for nine days, it’s time to face long lines again as running trains have gone down from 10 to eight. Daily MRT commuters should pack a much heavier patience with possible longer queues and jam-packed trains due to the decrease.

Besides the train, there are other alternative modes of transportation in the Metro that you can use such as point to point buses (P2P), UV Express vans, and regular buses.

If you’re not one for sunbathing and want to avoid the sun’s harsh rays outside, opt for an indoor activity that will keep you just as entertained. Why not try a theater show? This month, there are various performances to watch, a few of which are at The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

CCP often presents various live shows besides stage plays; sometimes the grand complex houses ballet shows and orchestra concerts. Besides live theatre shows, the complex also hosts other art forms that shape the country’s culture such as visual art shows, literary, cinematic, design, dance, and music.
