The hottest months of the year always bring welcome changes to everyday life: thinner clothes to withstand the heat, relaxing escapades to feed the soul, and brief (and possibly meaningful) summer romances for a little bit of excitement. The weeks to follow bring a new set of promises and possibilities to encounter and ultimately thrive from.

But the upcoming season does not only promise some fun in the sun: there are also expos, fairs, and events you can soak up as you simultaneously bask in the summer heat. Here are 10 of the hottest summer bazaars in Metro Manila this 2018!


1. BazKet Manila Year 2

When: April 13 to April 15
Where: Megatrade Hall, Mega B Building, SM Megamall, EDSA corner Doña Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center
Entrance fee: Free

Some workshops have limited slots only but the others are free for all.



Pinoy pride is strongly highlighted in BazKet (Bazaar and Market) Manila Year 2. Expected in the bazaar are handicrafts, artisanal food and drinks, summer-ready outfits, and even home and kitchenware items. Some exhibitors expected to participate are Grood Wood, Exito Vida Boutique, and Pearlypop Swimwear just to name a few. Visitors can also join various workshops on scribbling, green housekeeping, and basic crochet.

How to get there: Take the MRT and alight at Ortigas Station. From there, you can walk to SM Megamall.


2. PARAISO Summer Bazaar

When: April 13 to April 15
Where: Eastwood City, Grand Central Plaza Eastwood Avenue, Bagumbayan, Quezon City
Entrance fee: Free

PARAISO Summer Bazaar is organized by the University of the Philippines Junior Finance Association.



PARAISO Summer Bazaar claims to be the one-stop summer bazaar where you can find all your summer essentials at affordable prices. Featured items in the bazaar include summer food and drinks, make-up, swimwear, clothes, and accessories. No tickets or reservations are needed to visit the bazaar.

How to get there: From Cubao, walk past Farmer’s Plaza, Araneta Coliseum, and Ali Mall to get to General Romulo Avenue. From there, ride a jeepney headed to Libis and get off at Citibank Square. The Central Plaza is walking distance from here.


3. Summer Komikon 2018

When: April 14
Where: Bayanihan Center, Pioneer Street, Pasig City
Entrance fee: PhP100

Komikon, Inc. was created in 2005.



Organized by Komikon, Inc., Summer Komikon 2018 is a convention which showcases Filipino komiks (comics) and its creators to the fans. Publishers, retailers, and comics creators who create their own original merchandise can be found in the event, along with independent tiangges (bazaars) for start-up or first-time comic creators. Tickets are sold on the day of the event but pre-sold tickets are also available at partner stores.

How to get there: From the MRT Boni Station, walk towards Robinsons Pioneer. From there, ride a tricycle going to Bayanihan Center.


4. 16th Babypalooza Bazaar

When: April 14 to April 15
Where: Fortune Hall in Elements, Eton Centris, EDSA Corner Quezon Avenue, Quezon City
Entrance fee: Free

The first ever Babypalooza Bazaar was in 2012.



Babypalooza Bazaar is a fair that features both brand-new and slightly-used baby products and services. Coming from more than 60 vendors, the products are not only for the baby but also for toddlers and even the parents themselves. Free admission is available for both walk-in and pre-registered visitors but the latter are eligible for a prize package.

How to get there: Take MRT to Quezon Ave Station, go down the north exit (the one opposite Mcdo) and walk to Centris.




5. Zest 2018: All Filipino Lifestyle Bazaar

When: April 16 to April 20
Where: UP Town Center Amphitheater, UP Town Center, Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City
Entrance fee: Free

The first Zest bazaar was held last October 16 until October 20, 2017.



Zest 2018: All Filipino Lifestyle Bazaar aims to celebrate the variety and diversity of the Filipino culture. Organized by the University of the Philippines – Diliman Economics Society and the University of the Philippines - Diliman School of Economics Student Council, the event will feature stalls selling proudly-Filipino food, accessories, and other novelty items.

How to get there: From Cubao, take the LRT 2 train and alight at Katipunan station. Take the exit as the same side as St. Bridget School. From there, start walking towards Katipunan Avenue until you reach Katipunan flyover. Ride the jeepneys going either to UP Diliman or Tandang Sora and alight at UP Town Center.




6. Manila Fame

When: April 19 to 21
Where: Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, Golden Shell Pavilion, Roxas Boulevard corner Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Pasay City
Entrance fee: PhP500 – Regular; Php400.00 – Senior Citizen; Php250.00 – Student

Manila Fame was founded in 1983.



A project of the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, Manila Fame is considered to be the design and lifestyle event of the country. Filipino artisans and manufacturers coming from small- and medium-scale companies get to show off their skills and some of their products such as home décor, fashion accessories, and furniture pieces to a wide audience. Buyers and spectators will also get access to proudly Filipino products which are world class in quality. Registration is required before being allowed entrance to the event. Coming in business attire is also recommended.

How to get there: At the southbound side of EDSA, get on a bus going to Baclaran – Malanday via EDSA Ayala. Alight at Gil Puyat Avenue. After about a two-minute walk, you’ll see the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions.




7. 14th Philippine Food Expo

When: April 20 to April 22
Where: SMX Convention Center, Seashell Lane, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City
Entrance fee: PhP50

This year’s theme is “Emerging trends in food trade.”



Supported by the Department of Agriculture, the 14th Philippine Food Expo is an event by the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization, Inc. which has been running for more than a decade now. It aims for Filipino consumers get to know the different food companies in the country as well as let these food companies get to know their market and competitors. There will also be events such as the Culinary Challenge and the Barista Challenge. Visitor registration and reservation of a seminar slot is required before going to the expo.

How to get there: From the MRT Taft station, walk through the connecting bridge towards LRT 1 EDSA station. Right at the exit are jeepneys going to SM Mall of Asia.


8. TagCom 2018

When: April 21 to April 22
Where: Megatrade Hall, Mega B Building, SM Megamall, EDSA corner Doña Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center
Entrance fee: Free

TagCom is hosted by Official_Hobbiworx.



TagCom is a gathering of toy enthusiasts and hobbyist collectors which is now on its 12th year. Over 50 booths that feature both toy sellers and retailers from all over the metro are expected to participate. Some activities included in the event are an exhibit of life-size statues, toy auctions, cosplay competitions, and collector’s display.

How to get there: Take the MRT and alight at Ortigas Station. From there, you can walk to SM Megamall.


9. 7th Baby, Kids, and Family Expo

When: April 21 to April 22
Where: Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall, EDSA corner Doña Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center
Entrance fee: Free for online registrants, PhP20 for walk-ins

The expo was founded in 2013.



The 7th Baby, Kids, and Family Expo is the biggest trade fair of baby, kids, maternity, parenting, and family products. 150 brands and 100 exhibitors are expected to participate and 10,000 visitors are also predicted to flock the event.

How to get there: Take the MRT and alight at Ortigas Station. From there, you can walk to SM Megamall.


10. Furry Pinas 2018

When: May 19 to May 20
Where: SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Seashell Lane, Pasay
Entrance fee: PhP150 – Novice; PhP250 – Experienced; PhP595 – Veteran

FurryPinas is the official furry convention in the country.



FurryPinas is the county’s premiere gathering of furry enthusiasts. Furry media is basically the TV shows, video games, and movies that star animals having human characteristics and traits. Examples of these are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Pokemon. The event will feature various lectures, carnival games, art contests and a whole lot more activities.

How to get there: From the southbound side of EDSA, ride a bus headed towards SM Mall of Asia or Baclaran. Alight at SM Mall of Asia.
