Despite the diet fads that come and go, many people still prefer the classic vegetarian diet. But did you know that there are different types of vegetarians? One of the most popular types of the vegetarian diet is veganism, where vegans (the followers of this diet) consume zero animal product or by-product. This means no meat products are consumed—not even eggs, dairy, or honey! This does not only apply to what they eat; even the items they use daily should be free from animal by-products as well.

Although it might be overwhelming to adopt veganism, there are now a growing number of restaurants in the metro to help you transition to a vegan lifestyle. Read on to see some of the best vegetarian restaurants in Manila that might suit your palate.

Wabi-Sabi is famous both for its noodle dishes inspired by various Asian countries and the affordable prices they come in. Here you can find vegetarian steamed buns as cheap as PhP30!

Some of the must-tries at Wabi-Sabi include their Tantamen (PhP200), a vegan version of the Japanese ramen with soup mixed with pure sesame sauce (ask them to not add any egg to make it vegan). You can also partner your noodle dish with their Okonomigyoza (PhP80), a mixture of okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and gyoza that’s still vegetarian.

How to get to Wabi-Sabi’s Tomas Morato branch: From EDSA you can ride a bus or the MRT Line 3 and alight at Quezon Avenue.
