Here’s a few reasons why attending expos has its many benefits: first, it can be a great learning experience especially if the expo focuses on your specific field of interest; second, it can be a great platform to discover new things; and third, there are tons of new people you can meet who share the same idea and passion as you. If these ideas sound good to you, why not try to attend one of these expo events in Metro Manila this May 2018?
1. The Trans Sport Show
When: May 17 to 20
Where: Hall 2-4, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
Price: PhP100 (general admission)
The Trans Sport Show began in 1992, and has been blazing trails with their annual auto show since then.

If you like fast and fancy cars, then you will have your fill at the 2018 Trans Sport Show. The four-day event will showcase over 100 vehicles that are specifically customized and restored just for the show. In its 27 years, the show has exhibited the best and most sought-after car models, and has catered to both young and veteran car enthusiasts. Hundreds of car shops and car restoration experts also gained exposure throughout the event’s open automotive restoration and car show competitions.

How to get to SMX Convention Center: Ride the MRT-3 and get off at Taft Avenue station. From the station, ride a shuttle heading to SM Mall of Asia. The SMX Convention Center is just within the vicinity of the mall.
2. Getting Married Bridal Fair
When: May 26 to May 27, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Where: Function Room 1, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
Price: Free admission
Getting Married Bridal Fair is a tri-annual wedding expo that brings together all bridal concessions for newly engaged couples.

The annual event is one of the grandest, biggest, and successful bridal fairs in Asia Pacific and has been helping couples since 2001.

3. Big Bike Expo & Moto Builds Pilipinas
When: May 19 to 20, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Where: Hall 1, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City

Big Bike Expo is organized by Makina, a motorcycle-centered Facebook group.

If this year’s Trans Sport Show is for fans of four-wheeled rides, fans of two-wheeled big bikes have their own event at the Big Bike Expo. Besides meeting fellow motorcycle aficionados, the expo will showcase both classic and contemporary motorcycles in all shapes, frames, and sizes. Newly released motorcycle models will also be on display as interested buyers get to see the actual products on display. In case the attendees want to cop a bike but are short in cash, the event has partnered with Asia United Bank to allow buyers to loan money for their own dream ride.

4. Furry Pinas 2018
When: May 19 to 20, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Where: Function Room 1, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
Price: PhP150 Novice; PhP250 Experienced; PhP595 Veteran
Furries is a subculture in pop culture where people are interested in anthropomorphic animal characters with human-like personalities and characteristics.

The furry fandom in the Philippines will finally have their own convention in the country for the first time this year with Furry Pinas 2018. Although this specific circle of hobbyists, or “fandom” (community of fans), is quite unusual, there are actually a huge number of people in the country who love to collect toys and merchandise of personified animals. On its first year, few of the things that the Filipino furries can expect at the event are furry cosplay contests, seminars, art contests, meet and greet events with guests of honor, food tasting activities, game shows, video games, and a whole lot more. Booths will also sell various merchandise from different indie stores to attending fans.

5. IFEX Philippines
When: May 25 to 27
Where: World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center, Roxas Boulevard cor. Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Pasay City

IFEX is also a business to business platform for local and international food companies to boost their businesses.

The International Food Exhibition (IFEX) is one of the grandest international food trade events in the country. Year after year, the event showcases ethnic food exclusive to the diverse palates of Asian countries. This year’s three-day event will focus on the best of sea foods and the most current food trends to try.
Although the event has a theme of “The Best of the Seas,” it will feature not only sea foods but also a wide range of different fruits and vegetables; alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; grains and cereals; herbs and spices; meat and poultry; natural, healthy, and organic products; and a lot more. Aspiring chefs and home cooks can also watch live cooking demonstrations by professional local chefs to get a few insider tips on how to improve their cooking.
How to get to World Trade Center: Ride the LRT-1 and get down at Gil Puyat or Buendia Station. From the station, ride a bus or a jeepney bound for SM Mall of Asia or Roxas Boulevard. The ride will pass by World Trade Center.
6. Philbeauty 2018
When: May 30 to June 1
Where: Function Rooms 4-5, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
Price: PhP100 for public/non-professionals
Philbeauty is running its fourth edition this year, a celebration of its half-decade in existence.

Professionals from the beauty industry will come together for the Philippines International Beauty Show, better known as PhilBeauty, a three-day exhibition where they get to meet the biggest names in the industry, including trade buyers, distributors, and fellow professionals. Besides a wide array of beauty products, technological solutions, and services, there are also workshops, networking opportunities, and other seminars on site where they can further their skills and technologies in their respective businesses.
Exhibitors from local and international spas, salons, nail spas, dermatology clinics, and makeup businesses will be present at the event, so if you’re an aficionado of beauty products, then don’t miss out!

7. The 23rd Graphic Expo
When: May 31 to June 2, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Where: Halls 1-2, SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City
Price: Free
The three-day expo expects to accommodate about 12,000 visitors in a three-day long event for budding creatives and graphic artists.

Since 1996, Graphic Expo has been one of the country’s leading marketplace and tradeshow for enthusiasts and practitioners in the creative industry. On its 23rd year, Graphic Expo upholds its purpose to connect businessmen, entrepreneurs, buyers, suppliers, and other industry players under one venue not only for an exhibit but to provide an avenue for meeting new peers, broadening their network, and sharing their knowledge about what’s trending in the market today. Other artists also visit the trade show to get new business ideas and be in the know about the latest tools, innovations, and upgrades in their craft. One of the event’s highlight is the T-shirt making contest, an annual competition at the expo for spirited graphic artists who want to put their abilities to the test.
