Although it has been two years since the members of One Direction parted ways, Directioners are still anticipating the comeback of the famous British quintet. While any news of their comeback is never officially announced, Directioners are getting by through supporting the boys individually. Last year, Filipino Directioners were excited as two of the group’s members, Harry and Niall, announced that Manila will be part of their respective tours.

After Harry Style’s phenomenal show in Manila last May 1, Niall Horan will take the center stage this June for his Flicker World Tour. While One Direction previously had a two-day concert in Manila, this will be the first time that the 24-year-old will perform as a solo artist. Since the tour will be a promotion for his album “Flicker,” some of the songs that die-hard fans can expect to sing along to at his show include tracks from the album such as “Slow Hands,” “This Town,” “Mirrors,” and much more.

Hillsong United is the Australian band behind some of the most popular contemporary Christian music such as “So Will I,” “I Wonder,” and “Oceans.” Just like Hillsong, Young & Free caters to the youthful generation who sings of their love, freedom, grace, and relationship with Jesus Christ. A few of their songs are “Real Love,” “Wake,” and “This Is Living.” Both bands sing of devotion to Jesus Christ and their songs are often performed in church services and worldwide concert tours, so attendees can expect a harmonious duo who can rock the stage and at the same time uplift the crowd’s spiritual moods.

A few of her hit love songs, such as “Love Moves in Mysterious Ways,” Loving You,” and “Where Does Time Go” among others, are popular among those who are in love.

Making a name for yourself in the music industry is hard enough as it is—there’s a tough crowd to please and there’s always going to be new talented singers striving for the same spotlight. An artist who has reached 10 years in the industry is already impressive, but someone who reaches 45 years? That implies immense talent and dedication—things that Hajji Alejandro definitely has. As a celebration for his 45th year in the industry, Hajji Alejandro will hold a concert called “Ako at ang Aking Musika” (My Music and I) at the Theatre at Solaire.

He will be joined by various famous OPM singers such as his daughter Rachel Alejandro, Rey Valera, Marco Sison, and Ms. Celeste Legaspi. Few of Hajji’s songs that left a mark in the industry include “Panakip Butas” (Rebound), “Nakapagtataka” (I Wonder), and “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika” (How Beautiful Is Our Music).

9. Scandal Live In Manila

When: June 24, 2018
Where: SMX Convention Center
Prices:
PhP2,800 General Ad
PhP8,000 Emperor’s Pass (with Fan Meet)

It’s been a long time coming, but one of Japan’s leading girl rock band Scandal is finally heading to Manila for the first time as part of their “Honey” Asia tour. The group is behind some of the popular anime theme songs in shows like Naruto and Bleach. Tomomi, Haruna, Mami, and Rina gained a huge local and international following over the years as their band continues to dominate Japan’s hit charts. Their cute and charming appearance might make some think they play sweet music, but in fact their songs are full of intense riffs and hard-hitting instrumentals—a fact that sets them aside from the typical girl groups in Japan. Whether you’re an anime fan or someone who’s very into rock music, this show is nonetheless a must-see.

Tickets are available at SM Tickets outlets and SM Tickets online.

How to Get There: Follow directions for SM MOA Arena; SMX Convention Center is located in the same complex.

While 5 members of the original 12-member Korean pop (K-pop) boy band Super Junior have enlisted in their nation’s military force and are thus absent, the group’s remaining 7 members remain unstoppable and are still making music even after 12 years. Old K-pop fans would know that Super Junior is one of the pioneers of the Korean wave overseas, with their song “Sorry Sorry” peaking in Philippine hit charts in 2009, giving way for other K-Pop acts to flourish. Even with a new breed of boy bands coming and going, the men of Super Junior (or SUJU as their fans call them) can still keep up.

Tickets are available at SM Mall of Asia arena.

How to Get There: Follow directions given previously.
