Rainy weather welcomes the first week of August in Metro Manila. As such, Manileños must be equipped with rain protective gears such as umbrellas and raincoats. Meanwhile, good transportation news abound as commuters from Bulacan to the metro now have a Point-To-Point (P2P) bus while additional P2P bus trips from Megamall to Trinoma are also provided.

Weather: Continuous downpour all over Manila

Manileños would have to brace themselves again for light to moderate thunderstorms. As the weather can swing from normal or intense, bringing an umbrella is essential. A hoodie or a sweater would also be handy since the wind can be cold. Average temperature in Manila would range from 29 to 32 °C [1].

For those who will pass by flood-prone areas, use boots to protect your feet from bacteria-infested floodwater. Doing so will prevent possible health dangers like leptospirosis, hepatitis A, cholera, and typhoid fever.

Additional P2P bus trips

Since August 1, additional Point-to-Point (P2P) trips have been added to the SM Megamall to Trinoma route as announced by the Froelich Tours bus company. The trip increase was made to accommodate the growing number of passenger demands of the P2P route. The additional trips are available Mondays to Fridays [2]. Departure times from SM Megamall are as follows:

  • 6:00 PM
  • 6:15 PM
  • 8:00 PM
  • 8:15 PM
  • 10:00 PM
  • 10:15 PM

Note that these times can change; monitor the social media pages of the P2P bus for latest updates. The ticket fare remains the same and discounts still apply to students, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens.

New Manila-Bulacan P2P bus route now available

In other P2P-related news, those who are frequently travelling from Manila to Bulacan or vice versa might find commute easier with a new P2P route. Precious Grace Transport Services, which provides the buses for the P2P route, stated that there would be two routes.

The first route is from Robinsons Malolos to North Avenue, Quezon City while the second is from Santa Maria, Bulacan to Trinoma in North Avenue, Quezon City. The price for a one-way ticket for the first route would cost about PhP80, while the latter would be at PhP70.

Only 15 buses would be used and they would be departing every 30 minutes starting from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM every Mondays to Saturdays [3].

Travel Update: Possible flight suspensions

Since the rainy season is still on full-force this week, anyone flying abroad or to other provinces must take notice of flight or ferry suspensions due to the inclement weather.
