Market Price Watch (December 11, 2018)

For a price list of the goods and grocery items in SM Megamall, read on.

For the second week of December, Yoorekka visited SM Megamall Supermarket to check out the prices and availability of basic commodities. The following is an updated list of common goods and their prices as of December 10, 2018.


Rice

Two kilograms of Sinandomeng is sold for PhP152. Meanwhile, two kilograms of malagkit rice is sold for PhP155.20.

NFA rice is not available at SM Megamall Supermarket.


Sugar, Salt, Pepper

Brown sugar is sold for PhP57.50/kg while white sugar is sold for PhP64/kg. Salt, on the other hand, is goes for PhP10/kg and whole black pepper is for PhP49.50/75g.


Fish, Meat, Poultry

One kilogram of tilapia sells for PhP135, one kilogram of galunggong is for PhP210, and one kilogram of bangus is for PhP192.

For meat, pork in adobo cut is PhP205/kg, beef is PhP244/kg, and cured ham is PhP61/250g.

Finally, one kilogram of chicken is sold for PhP136 and one dozen eggs is PhP81.


Vegetables

The following is a list of vegetables SM Megamall Supermarket has with their corresponding prices: red onion, PhP100/kg; white onion, PhP77/kg; garlic, PhP94/kg; tomatoes, PhP47.50/500g; siling labuyo, PhP299/kg; potatoes, PhP128/kg; carrots, PhP81/500g, pechay, PhP87.50/500g; kangkong, PhP60/kg; and cabbage, PhP95/500g.


Fruits

Bananas are sold at PhP34.50/500g. Meanwhile, apples are for PhP71/500g and oranges are for PhP71.50/500g.


Canned goods

Canned tuna is sold at PhP22/155g; corned beef is sold at PhP24.25/150g; one can of sardines is sold at PhP14.75/155g; and meatloaf is sold at PhP16.95/150g. These are the lowest prices offered for each canned good.
