Palawan residents and commuters can take advantage of the Paleng-QR PH Plus program, which allows daily cashless payments for markets and transportation fares. This program was recently introduced in the town to provide a convenient way for Palaweños to pay through cashless transactions.

Paleng-QR PH Plus is an initiative of the Bangko Sentral ang Pilipinas (BSP), in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government, that aims to promote digital payments in markets, banks, and institutions. Using the QR PH initiative, the program also seeks to maximize digital payments through digital devices, such as cellphone apps.

Tricycles and public market stalls will have stickers on their stalls or vehicles, ready for scanning for payments, with a QR code provided by BSP. Customers will only need to scan the QR code when paying, using any QR code scanner from their bank or e-money accounts. A single national QR code will be used for digital payments across different banks or wallet providers.

BSP anticipates that local government units (LGUs) will enact ordinances to promote vendors' and public transport drivers' acceptance of digital payments. Meanwhile, LGUs will also assist in establishing transaction accounts such as bank accounts and e-wallets.

As of June 30, 2024, 100 LGUs nationwide have initiated launch activities or issued policies in support of the Paleng-QR PH program: NCR (3), Luzon (74), Visayas (15), and Mindanao (8).
