One of the best Filipino customs is the “bayanihan spirit” or the value of teamwork and cooperation to achieve a goal. This continues to manifest today through the launching of community pantries in the Philippines in the middle of a pandemic. A community pantry is a pantry filled with all kinds of food and essential needs including vegetables, fruits, canned goods, and rice. The thing about a community pantry is people can freely take what they need and give what they can in return.

Inspired by the movement that began in Maginhawa, Quezon City, community pantries in Batangas have also emerged. If you’re wondering where you can find community pantries in Batangas, read below!
